OUR HISTORY
Founded in 1976
The New Zealand Wool Dumping Group was founded in 1976 in Napier and Christchurch, New Zealand. As you see by the pictures the machine was Initially located in Napier, the business has since relocated three times within the Hawke's Bay region and is now situated between Clive and Whakatu.
The Early Days
In the early days of the company, they utilized a water press to compress bales of wool. However, in 1986, a stone press was manufactured and commissioned in the PGG building in Napier. This new machine marked a significant advancement for the company's operations.
Interestingly, the stone press was later transported to Australia, where the current operator of the New Zealand Wool Dumping Group trained a team on how to operate the machine. This highlights the international reach and expertise of the company.
Stone Press returns to New Zealand
Fortunately, in the early 1990s, the stone press made its way back to New Zealand, much to the delight of the operator. This machine is truly unique, as it possesses the remarkable ability to exert up to 700 tons (700T) of pressure. This exceptional capability sets it apart from other machines in the industry and contributes to the efficiency and effectiveness of the New Zealand Wool Dumping Group's operations.
